A complete packet of your
required yearly interview materials must be submitted electronically through
Dropbox by 5:00 p.m. on published Materials Due Date for your interview month.
5 - 7 days before that date, you will receive an e-mail from Rev. Laura Martin
(energizer.bunny@comcast.net) with instructions for uploading your interview
materials. You must follow the instructions in the e-mail and upload your
materials from your computer to the DCOM Dropbox location, even if you use
Dropbox personally.
Your completed interview materials to be uploaded to Dropbox should consist of 2 files - 1 file in .pdf format that is a compiled and paginated file of all the information below, and 1 MP3 file that is the audio recording of your sermon. (Please note the exception under #3 below that allows for a 3rd file to be submitted.)
NEW! You no longer need to submit a hard copy of your materials or a hard CD of the MP3 file of your sermon for your permanent file.
Required Interview Materials (09/01/2021 - 06/30/2022)
1. Cover sheet (click here)
2. Updated Autobiographical Statement - Describe in several paragraphs the important developments in your life since your last interview. This may involve personal and family matters, professional matters, and spiritual matters. Your update should specifically include your personal spiritual growth and spiritual formation as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
3. Sermon preached within
3 months of your interview date

NOTE: If you use slide projections for the order of worship and do not create
a hard copy worship bulletin/program, you must upload the file of slides produced
for the worship service associated with the sermon you are submitting for
your interview.
4. Written essay answers

5. Completed Mentor's

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK YOUR MENTOR TO COMPLETE A MENTOR'S REPORT
in such a time that you can review it together and include it in your
packet of interview materials. Your mentor will not submit this report without
your request. DCOM requires you to meet with your mentor a minimum of 4 times
each year.
6. Updated education work - include an unofficial transcript of any college, seminary, or Course of Study classes completed by the due date of your required interview materials. Also include the completion certificate of any ministry-related training/CE event you attended.
7. For Certified Candidates
not currently appointed to serve a church: Letter from your local church
pastor or church supervisor - This letter should include a description of
your involvement, leadership, and ministry in the local church over the past
year. The letter should include a statement of the number of years you have
been a member of the church. The letter is non-evaluative.
